Aboard on their respective vehicles the vehicle assignees passed their passenger manifests for security purposes. Ms. Gayle Guerra, Psychology Instructor and event Guest accompanied the neopsych and the working committees to Bluroze farms and resort at around 8:30 am.
After ten minutes, the convoy reached Bluroze Farms and Resort. We proceeded at the Kampupot Hall for activity orientation being lead by Joy Faltado as Batch Host. She explained the nature of the activity and the game mechanics, profoundly. The 6 teams were regrouped into two major Batches A and B. Batch A has different program from Batch B due to the maximization of allotted time.
9:15 am started the Trailblazers event with the Guts Phase mechanics.
- GUTS PHASE consists of 5 challenges – banner building, crawl of fame, triathlon, big shoe, and licking the pole - that test the ability of the neophyte in physical coordination, cognitive processes and determination-building.
BANNER BUILDING
- A 25-minute is given to the 6 groups to create their own banner or pennon. The pennon will serve as their identity to each challenges they will encounter. Through this activity, the group will unleash their creativity and practice brainstorming which are vital in-group process.
CRAWL OF FAME
- Time limit: 20 minutes or less. Each member must crawl to the mud.
TRIATHLON
- Time limit: 1 hour. This activity is composed of three events: RUNNING, BIKING, AND HIKING. As a roadblock game, the group was divided into 3 teams (each team has 3 members). Each team will do a certain event being assigned by the arbiter. 3 persons will do the running event, after they had finished they’ll tagged their other teammates that will do the biking event as well as the ones in the hiking episode.
BIG SHOE
- Time limit: 30 minutes. 9 members of the group will put on the caricature of a pair of shoes to their feet. 2 wooden planks support the caricature with a rope at the front for gripping. With coordination, they will easily step one by one until they head thru the target line.
LICKING THE POLE
- Time limit: 15 minutes. Each member must lick the bamboo pole covered with molasses and live milkworms
- They must eat 5 or 6 milkworms for them to proceed to the next round. If not the arbiters will pull 3 nose hairs of the 9 members as a consequence.
At exactly, 11:45 am the Trailblazers participants and organizers ate their lunch of Chicken barbeque, Chinese chopseuy and thirst-relieving cola at the tents adjacent to the Salu-Salo Hall. By 12:55pm they started the With Phase activities.
- WITH PHASE: in this round, the participants tested their mental capacity or mind conditioning at the Honor draw, boosted their talents in the Encore, evaluated the sharpness of their memory at the Maze craze and assessed their schema at Froshies, Psych Ka na Ba?
HONOR DRAW
- Time limit: 20 minutes. The group leader drawn a lot from the arbiter. The lot conveys what exotic food the group will eat. If they resist eating the exotic delicacies, they had to drink a cup of chili juice or shake as a consequence.
THE ENCORE
- Time limit: 75 minutes. The groups were under the command of the arbiters assigned. The arbiters gave them what they will do, with a few seconds they showed their group presentation. Within this event, they were subjected to feature their talents in singing, acting and dancing.
MAZE CRAZE
- Time limit: 30 minutes per batch. They entered at the maze garden to find the Trailblazers logo. PER GROUP: They only have ten minutes to find the hidden item. They are given a yarn to drag along their search to the maze.
FROSHIES, PSYCH KA NA BA?
- Time limit: 1 hour. The game is patterned at PILIPINAS, GAME KA NA BA? SHOW. Each group will select a representative for the game. First 2groups that had finished the previous event before the said game show will chose 2 members that will represent them at the game. It consists of the ELIMINATION ROUND, PYRAMID GAME AND A HALL OF FAME QUESTION. To answer the host’s question, they have to raise their flags high for them to recognize.
Ms. Ma. Jessa Biscocho won the Hall of Fame Question by answering Sigmund Freud to her chosen question.
